Clinical AI in your pocket
Photo. Question. Answer. Clinical AI in your pocket, without patient data in the cloud.
Alveus extracts the clinical context from your photo or dictation, replaces patient data with synthetic equivalents on your iPhone, and hands a clean prompt to ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity.
Smart Capture
Photo or dictation, one question, finished prompt. Alveus structures the clinical context on your device.
Your context, built in
Specialty, setting, answer level. Your profile flows into every prompt without typing.
Pseudonymised by default
Names, dates, addresses, insurance IDs replaced with synthetic data. Mapping stays on your device.
Offline-capable
OCR, speech recognition, structuring — all on-device. Verify it: switch to airplane mode.

The reality
Echo finding before the patient room. Vancomycin dosing in the elevator. Differential diagnosis in the hallway. These are the moments where clinicians reach for AI today. Hospital systems aren't built for them.
The problem isn't the usage. It's that patient data has nowhere safe to go.
Your clinical text
Patient Emma Richards, DOB 03/12/1967, presents with chest complaints for 3 weeks. Referred by University Hospital Hamburg. Insurance ID A123456789.
Your prompt — pseudonymised
Patient Sarah Miller, DOB 08/07/1974, presents with chest complaints for 3 weeks. Referred by Klinikum Mainz. Insurance ID B987654321.
Plausible synthetic data. Full clinical content. The AI gets a complete natural case, not a placeholder template — and your identifiers stay local.
Three steps
Capture. Review. Send.
- 01
Capture text
Photo, dictation, or paste — OCR and voice recognition run on-device.
- 02
Review identifiers
Alveus highlights names, dates, locations, IDs. You check and confirm — nothing sends automatically.
- 03
Send prompt, get result back
Alveus hands a complete prompt — with your profile and the clinical context — to ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity. The response comes back, real identifiers re-inserted on your device.
Clinical depth
Knows the difference between a patient named Parkinson and the diagnosis Parkinson's disease.
- →Names: patient, relatives, referring clinicians
- →Dates with consistent shifting — intervals stay medically accurate
- →Addresses, phone numbers, email
- →Insurance IDs, case numbers, provider IDs
- →Hospitals, clinics, health insurers
Diagnoses, medications, lab values, clinical findings, and eponymous diseases are preserved in full.
Placeholders like [NAME] make the AI think it's filling out a template. Synthetic data makes the AI think it's reading a complete patient case. The answer quality is fundamentally different.
Tasks
One tap. Ready-made prompt.
Eight tested templates for the moments between two patients — built for the corridor, not the workstation.
- 01Explain a finding in plain language to a patient
- 02Quick clinical lookup — dosing, interactions, guidelines
- 03Differential diagnosis check
- 04Structure a case for tumor board or peer discussion
- 05Prepare an informed consent conversation
- 06Translate for non-German-speaking patients
- 07Translate medical text DE/EN
- 08Free prompt with your own instruction

Honest limitations
What Alveus is not.
Alveus is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, classify findings, or interpret clinical content. That stays with the AI you choose — and with you.
Alveus does not make cloud AI automatically GDPR-compliant. It minimises what is sent. Professional responsibility remains yours.
No algorithm catches every identifier. The review step is mandatory — Alveus shows what it found. You decide.

Questions
Is Alveus free?
Yes. The app is free. An institutional edition with extended features is in development.
Do I need an account?
No. No login, no email. Download and start immediately.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. OCR, voice recognition, and pseudonymisation run fully offline. Only the final step — handing off to the AI tool — requires a connection.
Will my hospital let me use this?
Alveus runs on your personal phone and makes no network calls except your explicit handoff to the AI tool you choose. It doesn't connect to hospital systems and doesn't store data outside your device. Whether you may use AI tools in clinical contexts is governed by your institution's policies — Alveus minimises the risks involved.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone with iOS 26 or later. Android is planned for a later version.
Is data stored?
No. Photos and dictations are discarded immediately. Mapping tables exist in RAM only and are cleared after each session.
Is Alveus a medical device?
No. Alveus is a privacy tool for text preparation — not a medical device under MDR or FDA classification.
